GAP is in Guatemala

After a day of planes, trains, and automobiles (literally) the intrepid GAP team is safely and happily in San Miguel Escobar. Despite a very early start everyone arrived in Guatemala in high spirits. After watching a spectacular sunset (and small volcanic eruption!) from the rooftop terrace of our temporary home we walked across town to have dinner at the home of a local coffee farmer.

In the coming days we will be getting our bearings learning about Guatemala, De la Gente (our primary partner organization), and the coffee production process, all while starting our class with Dr. Laura. It should be a bit busy. Students will contact their families individually in the next day or two as we get online.
